The Fundie Impact Investment Competition is an opportunity for teams of students to analyse real life impact investment opportunities and decide what they would invest where if they were a fund.
The teams are then analysed by real life investors to understand how the actual impact investment world makes decisions. It will take place on Saturday 24th June 2017 on IE Business School’s campus in Madrid.
How does the Impact Investment Competition work?
48 hours before the competition, students receive 5 business plans from the 5 entrepreneurs. Each team has 2 days to analyse before the competition.
On the day of the competition, entrepreneurs make 10 min presentations to the teams and investors.
The teams conduct one-on-one interviews with the entrepreneurs to perform some due diligence, about 15 min each.
The teams each prepare deliverables for their chosen investments in work rooms, while monitored by judges. The deliverables include:
Structure of the deal
Impact measurement and KPIs
Teams and entrepreneurs negotiate the specifics of the terms sheets.
Judges have questions and feedback sessions with the teams, where they are asked about their deal structure, decision-making process, expected return etc.
